Successful Golf Day Leads to £6000 Donation
02 September 2022
We were delighted to once again host our annual golf day at the glorious Carden Park just down the road from our Tattenhall office.
The golf day has really become a favourite of ours and it’s something we look forward to each and every year.
Following on from 2021, where we could have fielded 28 teams if we had the room, we once again had to limit the number of teams to 21. However, on this occasion we had a couple of late drop outs, resulting in 19 teams of 4 taking to the course and battling it out for the trophy.
The Texas Scramble format really lends itself to a fun and boisterous round of golf, and it was defending champions The Jolly Boys, again visiting from Leeds to take part, who stole the show and retained their crown beating the rest of the field by a couple of shots.
Aside from the golf we are always looking to raise money for a local cause and this year is no different. Richard Pover from Tarporley passed away in 2011 at the terribly young age of 20 due to testicular cancer. His courageous family then set up The Richard Pover Endowment Fund in order to support budding young engineers at the University of Sheffield who may not be able to fund their academic aspirations.
Due to the continued support and generosity of our guests, we are proud to provide a £6000 donation towards the fund. Further information about the Charity can be found here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rememberingrichardpover
We would like to thank all of those who joined us on the day and continue to support each year. We feel extremely lucky to bring together such a brilliant group of people for a day filled with laughter, high spirits and good fun, while coming out the other side with a sizeable donation that can really make a difference for the Charities we support. Long may it continue and roll on next year!
